We all know that if you run with scissors you might "put your eye out". But is that actually true?

1. "You should wait an hour after eating before you swim, or you might get cramp and drown." But how long do you actually need to wait?

A. An hour

B. Half an hour

C. You don't need to wait at all

2. "If you keep your eyes open when you sneeze, they will pop out." But what is the truth behind this?

A. The change in blood pressure when you sneeze can be enough to pop your eyes out

B. The blood pressure behind your eyes does increase slightly when you sneeze, but not enough to pop your eyes out

C. It's rubbish - there's no change in blood pressure at all when you sneeze

3. So what's the truth behind running with scissors? Do scissors actually pose a risk to children's eyes?

A. Scissors are the most common cause of eye injury in small children

B. Scissors do occasionally injure children's eyes, but it's not a major risk

C. It's nonsense: children rarely, if ever, injure their eyes with scissors
