Why use boring units like metres and kilogrammes when you can talk in terms of swimming pools and elephants?
1. We read that the amount of water lost through leaks by Thames Water is equivalent to 250 Olympic sized swimming pools. But how much water does an Olympic pool hold?
2. What measurement of area is roughly equivalent to 8,000 square miles?
3. What is the maximum gross weight of a double decker bus in terms of elephants? Assume it's a "New Routemaster" bus, pictured above, and fairly normal male African elephant(s).
