The Twelve Labours of Hercules are a series of tasks carried out as a penance by Heracles, the Greek hero, whose name was later romanised as Hercules. Hercules was told by the Oracle of Delphi to serve Eurystheus, king of Mycenae, who gave him a series of difficult tasks, called "labours", to carry out.

    1. Which of these was NOT one of the twelve labours of Hercules?

    2. Hercules's fifth labour was to clean out the Augean stables. Assuming that 3,000 cattle had lived there for 30 years, each producing 30kg of dung per day, approximately how many tonnes of accumulated dung had to be removed?

    3. What number links:
    - the number of bodies of the giant Geryon, whose cattle Hercules had to take (Labour 10)
    - the number of golden apples of the Hesperides that Hercules had to steal (Labour 11)
    - the number of heads of Cerberus, guard dog of the underworld, whom Hercules had to capture (Labour 12)?
