According to a theatrical superstition, speaking the name "Macbeth" inside a theatre (other than as called for in the script while rehearsing or performing) will bring bad luck.

    1. In the event of inadvertently saying "Macbeth" in a theatre, you should exit the theatre and spin round HOW MANY TIMES before spitting, swearing, and waiting to be readmitted, in order to purge yourself of the curse?

    2. In which animated sitcom are the core cast invited into a performance of Macbeth by Ian McKellen, only to keep saying the title, making more and more bad luck strike the actor, including lightning striking him?

    3. A manager at Shakespeare's Globe tells this story: "I was a dancer on tour, and a school friend of mine had died. To cheer me up, the fiddle player bought me a beautiful Complete Works of Shakespeare. We were flicking through it, and another friend said 'I studied Macbeth at school'"...In that night's show, how many of these things happened?
    - Two of the violinist's strings snapped
    - A falling stage weight just missed landing on a stagehand
    - One actor fell off the stage
    - One actor danced straight into a wall and knocked herself unconscious
